DIMMUBORGIR

Dimmuborgir or ´The Dark Castle´is located in the Lake Myvatn area and is filled with unique lava formations that were formed during a volcanic eruption 2,300 years ago. The area is often described as a fortless and there are many hiking trails in the area. Many old Icelandic folk tales are told about this area.

At Christmas time you can see the 13 Sannta clauses of Iceland there and it was used for a filming location in Game of Thrones where Mance Raider had his wilding army camp.
