GRJOTAGJA

Grjótagjá is close to the Lake of Lake Myvatn. It is a small lava cave that Icelanders used to bathe in until the 1970s when the water became too hot due to geothermal activity. It is now most famous for being the filming location in Game of Thrones were Jon Snow and Ygritte shelter from the cold. Above the cave is Grjotagja rift where the techtonic plates of Eurasia and North America meet!
